It has been 30 years since the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.

I think everyone spent January 17th with their own thoughts.

The Kusayane Society has been holding study sessions on the themes of building greening and the environment,

and next time we will feature the earthquake disaster, inviting three people who worked hard for the reconstruction at that time to talk to us and pass on the knowledge to the next generation.

Non-members are also welcome to apply.

Date and time: Saturday, February 15th, 14:00-16:00

Location: Kobe Machizukuri Kaikan 2nd floor hall & online via Zoom

Participation fee: Free

Guests:

・Minamide Kazunobu, who was the building superintendent of Kobe City at the time and stayed overnight for three and a half months to contribute to the rapid reconstruction.

・Masubuch Masatoshi, who increased the building completion inspection rate from under 40% at the time to 99.9% in order to improve the safety of buildings after the earthquake.

- Amakawa Yoshimi, who worked alongside urban planner Kobayashi Ikuo, who sadly passed away last year and was an advisor to the Kusayane Association for many years, for 50 years, and continued to work alongside disaster victims with the slogan “Let’s make flowers bloom among the rubble.”
